Reason for Our Rating

With their famous bootstrapped tale, MailChimp has slowly risen to becoming a global leader with a massive user base and active loyal community.
More often than not they are the first brand associated with the term “email marketing”. They make extremely powerful tools at affordable prices, with few barriers to entry for any size team.

Mailchimp has also recently launched its “all-in-one marketing platform” for growing businesses, transforming itself from an email-centric company to one that can be used for all marketing needs for small and medium-sized business.. The recent break-up with Shopify and a lack enterprise eCommerce reporting features are the main reasons they are being held back in the market.

The Good

The Entire Marketing Suite MailChimp has built out features to compliment their email power such as CRM, social media management, and even physical postcards.

Land and Expand MailChimp offers a landing page builder to create sales funnels. Each one comes with templates to customize with buttons, photos, and CTAs.

Funny Monkey The usability and friendliness of the platform makes MailChimp an approachable tool for all levels of users.

The Bad

Lack of Vitamin A/B You cannot A/B test any automated series with MailChimp making abandonment campaigns a bit static.

Goodbye Shopify In early 2019 MailChimp and Shopify decided to call off their partnership due to data control disagreements.

Back in Stock The platform does not have any ‘Back in Stock’ functionality and automation.
