Reason for Our Rating

Stripe is everyone’s favorite payment processor these days. Whether it’s being the Silicon Valley unicorn, it’s genius co-founders, or it’s crazy client list (Warby Parker, Under Armour, Glossier, etc.), it’s hard to find reasons not to jump on board. Stripe wants to change how the entire Internet currently does business, and has proven it can hang with the industry giants.

Stripe gets two thumbs up from our team, and it is quite exciting to think they are not even close to slowing down. It’s powerful, approachable, and has maybe too many features. But it’s still not for every team, make sure you are ready to take the dive.

The Good

International Players Anthem Stripe is better suited to handle a global shopping customer base with the ability to take payments from over 130 countries.

Liquidity We all want to get paid, immediately. Since Stripe doubles as a payment gateway money is automatically put in your bank account for real-time reporting.

Partner Up Stripe has one of the vastest partner and integration suites, so everyone is making sure finances flow.

The Bad

Earn Your Stripes Stripe enthusiasts must be prepared for light-to-medium coding and API scripts to submit appropriate chargeback evidence and responses.

Fraud Police Merchants don’t seem to feel like Stripe gives them any way to protect against fraudulent charges and chargebacks.
